Ann Gates Fiser began as a child studying art with her mother, B.R. Gates, a professional career artist. From an early age she developed an interest in fairy tales and fantasy and began to draw the creatures she saw in her imagination. She attended the University of Texas, Austin as an art major. Fiser also has musical interests and received a Bachelor in music composition from the University of North Texas, Denton, TX. She was co-art director of Fashion Galleria Magazine, Dallas TX, a magazine for the fashion trade industry and designed New Orleans Mardi Gras costumes for one season. When she's not painting the Fairy Realm Fiser is a mural and decorative artist living and working in the Seattle, WA area. Her murals, residential and commercial, range from trompe l'oiel to impressionistic to children's rooms. She has also illustrated children's books.
