by James Kavanagh (Author), Leung Raymond (Illustrator), Waterford Press (Author)

A coastal migrant trap, Maine is a great place to learn about birds and develop a deeper understanding of their fascinating life histories. Over 400 species of birds are either permanent residents, regular breeders, or annual migrants in the Pine Tree State, where you can see such iconic seabirds as Atlantic Puffins, Razorbills, and Northern Gannets. There are also large congregations of waterfowl and shorebirds as well as impressive movements of Neotropical songbirds such as warblers, vireos, flycatchers, and thrushes. It can be a challenge to get acquainted with such a diversity of species, so it helps to have a portable reference to cut through the clutter and focus on the most familiar species. The beautifully illustrated Maine Birds features 140 common species and an ecoregion map showing over 20 bird-finding hotspots and learning sites. Laminated for durability, this lightweight, 12-panel folding pocket guide is the ideal companion for educators, learners, naturalists, and birders who wish to deepen their connection with the land and sea by getting to know their attendant birds. Made in the USA.
