Petunia is Vicente's grandmother, and she is not actually that crazy; on the contrary, her eccentricities are explained by her genuine interests. José Ignacio Valenzuela nació en 1972 en Santiago, Chile. Es un destacado escritor y guionista de cine y televisión en Chile, México y Estados Unidos. Ha publicado obras como Hacia el fin del mundo, El filo de tu piel, La mujer infinita, Con la noche encima, ¿De qué color es tu sombra?, Mi abuela la loca y la trilogía Malamor. En 2012 fue seleccionado por la revista About.com de The New York Times como uno de los diez mejores escritores latinoamericanos jóvenes.
