The articles in this book have been inspired by the experiences of the author, current events, reading, and studying, while drawing inferences therefrom, and getting inspiration for deep thoughts and pondering over old and new ideas.

How did I come up with these articles and thoughts and how would you, the reader, find the subjects and thoughts expressed in these pages, useful to you?

Here's the background: when I was in Elementary and High Schools, I used to read every copy of The Reader's Digest and Student Companion that I could lay my hands on. In Reader's Digest, I particularly enjoyed and imbibed the section on "Quotable Quotes". Those were stories and thoughts I pondered over, even, as I grew older. Quotable Quotes made me think critically, not just for what the words meant, but "Quotes" provided me with deep thoughts and ideas contained therein. They made me think deeper than I would have ordinarily. I later find myself using some of those quotes when I write or speak in public.

I was also influenced by debate contents, and current affairs. I learned from the afore mentioned Student Companion, and was drawn to the section on "Comparisons". A few of these expressions still ring in my mind: such phrases like "as dead as a door nail", "as sure as death and taxes", "as tall as a giant", "as deep as the sea", and "as high as the heavens", to recall a few.

It is our sincere hope that our readers will enjoy this book, be inspired by what you read, and draw inspiration and deep thinking from each article.

We believe that you, our readers, can use some of our content to enhance your speeches, or illustrate your messages with thoughts and ideas as those from "Quotable Quotes", "Student Companion", and as current affairs have helped to shape my own thoughts.
