Michael Ryūjin sat in his SUV and sorted through email on his cell phone, discarding the junk and relentless offers of evening companionship from the many women in his social and philanthropic circles. Something drew his notice to the beautiful woman coming across the parking lot and his inner dragon growled quietly in approval. He had casually watched her negotiate the puddle by her car door and collapse down into her seat, but after a few minutes he noticed that the car hadn't started. He tried to see the woman through the rainy windows, but no luck. His dragon stirred restlessly making Michael wonder why he was disturbed. Hoping that the reason the woman was sitting there was not due to car problems he thought he should at least check. Quickly unfolding his large frame from the SUV, he went around to her drivers' door and crouching beside her car, he tapped on the window. Michael was stunned by the beautiful but very tear-stained face that turned his way.

"Yesss," growled his dragon, "it is she; she is our mate."
