When Detective Sergeant Finley Winterbourne was called to investigate poachers in the southern English countryside, he was caught by a sudden twisting light and found himself trapped in a room of nothingness as he was sexually assaulted. None of this made any sense, but the more Finn learned, the more he was forced to accept the terrifying reality that something impossible and evil was happening, something that could come and go whenever it pleased and crush whomever it pleased, and he had no idea how to prevent that...or even fight back.

After all...how can you stop a serial killer who kills no one and doesn't even exist?
