Who were Pontius Pilate, Lazareth and Joseph of Arimathea? Did Jesus family support his mission? I am a Christian who agrees with the thoughts expressed by Thomas Jefferson in his book titled The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth which was first published in 1895. In this book, more commonly known as the Jefferson Bible, he focuses on Jesus as being a man of morals, an inspired teacher whose truths were expressed without the help of miracles or the supernatural powers of God. Said he:

"To the corruptions of Christianity I am indeed opposed: but not to genuine percepts of Jesus himself. I believe Jesus wished everyone to be, sincerely attached to His doctrine in Preference to all others; ascribing to Him all human excellence, and believing that He never claimed any other."
